Are you available anytime?

During one of the discussions at a small group meeting that I’ve attended, one of the questions or statement that struck me were the words..

Are you available anytime?

I was even challenged to answer the question with a resounding “yes.”  But then I get to realize and asked myself.. Have I been really available anytime when God calls me to serve?  In His community, in His Church? In His Family?  Have I given my time to “anytime?”  Even if I am tired?  Even if I don’t feel like it?  Even if my world is tumbling upside down?

Joyce Meyer once said..

God is not looking for ability but for availability. Offer what you do have to Him, and He will provide what you don’t have. The two of you can do something amazing.

It is actually funny when you decide and say to God (even if you don’t admit it) that you want to serve Him anytime He wants you to serve.  With that simple prayer, God gives you all the things you need.  Even sometimes, it could take a lot of patience as you wait.  But God gives.  More than anything else, He allows you to see things beyond the usual.  I’ve been a witness to that.  The past months, I’ve met different kinds of people who have, in their little ways, said yes to give God their time.  Man, they inspire me in so many ways.

One thing I’ve realized after you declare that God can have your anytime.. Your availability to Him is actually His gift for you.  Your “anytime” is yours and yours alone.  Your “anytime” is the time when He shows you the desires of your heart, the life that you wanted to live, the life that is and will be the source of joy in your heart, the life of contentment and peace.  And even if the world is full of misunderstanding, once God has your complete focus, you will see that life is beautiful and is a gift.  Immense joy.

Ahh, what a way to make yourself available to God.  So, are you willing to give Him your “anytime?”
